Guitarist and composer Damien Poots works at the synthesis of varied musical languages, uncovering an organic beauty that quietly provokes the ear. His compositions are a deliberate search for the 'song' within the complexity of jazz practice, layering romantic harmonies against a backdrop of contemporary and experimental textures.

Currently based in Spain after decades at the heart of the Buenos Aires scene, Damien is currently focused releasing new material, composing, collaborating and teaching. "His forms lean toward introspection, offering brushstrokes that wander with an intimate and mature sonic luminosity. It is a sphere rich in nuance that emanates nostalgia—the very place where the true sound of his melodic phrasing takes root."

Damien’s work reflects a continuous development shaped by his roots in London and his years in Argentina's cultural scene. This background has allowed him to develop a fluency in several musical vocabularies, which he blends into a cohesive personal style. Whether performing the melodic songs of Tomas Fares or exploring the experimental fringes of creative music, his playing is grounded in a deep study of the guitar’s mechanics. This versatility allows him to move comfortably between the beat of a jazz big band and the delicate, avant-pop textures of artists like Sof Tot or Yogurt.

Damien has edited two albums as a leader, Se Muta and La Ruta Natural. He is also co-founder of Kuai Music, a Bs. As. based independant contemporary jazz label. 

In addition to his performance career, Damien is an active music educator who balances traditional teaching with digital content. He has worked closely with the Jazz Duets YouTube channel.
His approach to teaching is based on the development of practical educational materials that connect music theory with creative practice. 

Currently, Damien is preparing new compositions for his upcoming projects and continuing to collaborate with different artists.
